Dr. Wingate accepts graduate students interested in interpersonal causes, correlates, and consequences of both suicidal behavior and depression. Students interested in graduate research opportunities in the Wingate Research Lab may email Dr. Wingate directly.
My goal is to provide my graduates students with as many opportunities for achievement and career building as possible. By all means check out my current grad students’ experience directly with them.
Please see the Psychology Graduate Student Brochure and the OSU Department of Psychology Graduate Program Website for more detailed information about the program and application process.
Dr. Wingate’s lab is looking for 3-4 outstanding students to assist in research focusing on the study of suicidal behaviors/correlates, and the generation of negative life events in participants suffering from symptoms of depression. Responsibilities will include recruiting, screening, and running participants, library research, and data entry. Students need to have an interest in research, should be self-motivated, and should be able to work on their own with little supervision. Those interested must be available to attend a one hour weekly research meeting in addition to working 6 to 8 hours per week. Preference will be given to students who meet the above requirements, and those who are willing commit to the Wingate Lab research team for one year.
Research Assistants (Psyc 4990) projects are competitive and the numbers of positions available are limited. Please click here for access to a site for enrolling in a 4990.
